In business English speaking and listening are considered fundamental requirements, and are normally the areas learnt first. However, they are not necessarily the easiest.
One of the challenges with speaking and listening is working with language in real time; not only do you need to understand what is being said, you need to be able to respond immediately.
In your classes you will have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills in these areas. Very often, the problems arise from a lack of confidence or a fear of getting it wrong. This is perfectly natural, but once you can overcome this, a whole world of exciting communication options will start to open up for you. With practice, you will be able to engage in discussions, use and understand formal and colloquial language, and express yourself confidently in a variety of situations.
